Cox Maintenance Window / AT&T OC48 Transit introduction
(2) Brief periods of latency as the new AT&T routes are introduced to the Complex Drive BGP peering mix.
As you know, Complex Drive has been putting a considerable amount of effort into improving the reliability and robustness of our forward facing IP network. A number of changes have already been implemented over the past month. In the upcoming week, Complex Drive will perform the last of three planned upgrades to provide enhanced network management and reliability for our customers.
These remaining changes include:
1. Introducing our new AT&T OC48 transit connection2. Upgrading Core Routing engines to handle increased traffic and routes
3. Upgrading our SONET ring capacity and routing equipment with Cox Communications
Each of these upgrades will have a significant and positive impact on the Complex Drive transit network.
Complex Drive customers may experience latency as the Cox BGP peering session is removed during their brief maintenance window. Cox should complete their work within 10-15 minutes and the connection will then be brought back online, and BGP peering will be reintroduced.
Complex Drive will attempt to time the introduction of the AT&T routes with this window as to minimize any effects on customer experience. Once complete, Complex Drive customers will have OC48 access to AT&T’s global network.
Upgrade of Core Router Supervisor Engines
Every effort is being made to keep any loss of connectivity from occurring during this window. Complex Drive will be upgrading Core router supervisor engines to allow for greater traffic handling and route management. While upgrades are being performed on the primary router, traffic will be shifted to an alternate router. Once upgrades are complete, traffic routing will be returned to normal.
