San Diego Data Center Power Infrastructure

Un-paralleled Redundancy

Many people claim to have "fully redundant" power infrastructure, at Complex Drive we actually deliver! From the power receptacles you plug into to the physical SDGE circuits connecting us to the city’s power grids – we have you covered.

Understanding Power Infrastructure

For the majority of the IT world, understanding the intricacies of a carrier class N+1 power system is a not within their job description. However, ensuring that power is always available, regardless of equipment failures or other unexpected situations is on the minds of everyone who makes the decision to collocate.

Here’s a simple breakdown. For total redundancy, your provider should be able to offer you an A and a B power circuit in any amperage or voltage you require. From here, you are able to plug equipment into two unique and separate power sources. This provides complete protection from unexpected failures such as power supplies & power cords.

From the Colocation or Data Center provider’s perspective, the A & B circuits should each be connected to a separate UPS (Un-Interruptible Power Supply) systems, separate Generators, and separate SDGE circuits. Without this configuration, a provider is not offering Fully Redundant Power Infrastructure.

Un-restricted Availability

Another critical item to consider when choosing a Colocation or Data Center service provider is the availability of power.

Are there any limits on the amount of power you can purchase per footprint?

Are you required to purchase more floor space to receive additional power?

Are you being charged an increased price for additional power circuits?

Many companies have not kept up with their customer’s demands for power. Power upgrades are costly and can take a year or more to complete.

Complex Drive underwent a full power upgrade in 2007 and can easily support any size power requirement. Customers within our production centers can select up to 100 Amps primary 110v power + 100Amps 110v redundant power per footprint. Complex Drive’s HVAC systems can cool this power load with ease.

Un-beatable San Diego Pricing

Since opening the doors to our largest production Data Center in 2004, Complex Drive has provided the most competitive pricing on electrical power circuits in the region. Today customer will save between 5 – 25% (over our competitors) on power pricing by choosing Complex Drive.
